Adruta Children Home

Adruta Children Home, promoted by Renaissance Artists and Writers Association (RAWA) Academy; was established in the year 1998 to rehabilitate the unclaimed, deserted and parentless children in Odisha. Dr Aditya Kumar Mohanty started this home with a mission to provide hope & home to the hapless children to grow into excellence and be part of the mainstream of society, . Children come to Adruta as young as newborns and stay until they are at least 21 years of age, emotionally and academically ready to begin their life. Now we have around 300 children in 6 different centers

The objective of the home is to provide adequate nutrition for physical development and a suitable habitat to grow, to provide holistic education , to explore the talents of the children and to provide skill based training on Fine Art, Craft, Tailoring, Embroidery, Food Processing, etc for employability.

Every child has right to education. The children living in the home are sent to local schools as per their capabilities. There are tutors in the payroll to help the children to remain proficient in their studies especially in Mathematics, Science and English
Some Extra-Curricular Activities are also part of their daily life.
a. Art & Painting : Painting helps a child to gain self-esteem and confidence. It provides an excellent source of personal relaxation and even physical therapy. It allows them to associate creativity with every aspect of life, not just on the canvas.
b. Music
Music helps the children in pain management, ward off depression, promote movement, ease muscle tension, and etc. Special classes on Vocal and Instruments are provided to the residents of Adruta
c. Dance
Special lesson on Classical and folk dance is given to the residents of Adruta. It is believed dance provides physical strength, flexibility and endurance to the kids
d. Sports :
The facilities in the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar are best utilised to train the kids having interest in track-events and field-events. Besides, there are elaborate facilities for indoor games in Adruta also.

Yoga and Mediattion : There are regular sessions in Yoga and Meditation early in the morning and evening, helping the children to keep themselves physically fit, mentally agile and spiritually afresh


f. Vocational Training : •Elaborate facilities are available for tailoring, knitting, embroidery, toy making, soft-toy making etc.

In the absence of regular inflow of funds, the organisation largely looks for assistance from likeminded institutions, organisations and individual patrons.

Part of the logistic requirement is met by cashless donation from individual patrons.
Individual (institutional) sponsorship of the expenses of children.
Donations under 80-G and F.C.R.

We have bigger challenges ahead to think how the home could be a sustainable venture so that the ongoing expenses are met on monthly basis. Also we have to address the growing compulsions to expand its activities to other districts for which we need to create a corpus fund to meet the unforeseen exigencies and growing expenses of the children on their education and extra curricular activities
.

We have future plans to open at least one Children Home in every District Head Quarter so that no orphan or destitute child goes unattended and to
serve as a nodal agency for other sister organizations

My appeal to all my friends please come forward and help us. Two happy meals at Mcdonald is the cost of the tuition fee of one child for a month. Together we can bring smiles in the life of some destitute children.
